If down payment and closing costs are keeping you from purchasing a home of your own, the First Time Homebuyer Program may be able to help. Eligible borrowers can use the forgivable loan to greatly reduce the out-of-pocket expenses associated with buying a home.
Income-eligible households that have not owned a home in the past 3 years may apply for a grant of up to $5,000*. These funds provide down payment and/or closing cost assistance to first-time homebuyers earning at or below 80% of the Area Median Income for households purchasing or constructing homes anywhere in Kansas.
Approved applicants must contribute a minimum of $500 toward their home purchase and are not required to repay the grant if they occupy the home for 5 years.
Funds will be available March 5, 2018. Applications are currently being accepted. GET PRE-QUALIFIED NOW!
*With approved credit for qualified buyers. Income limits apply and subsidies are limited.
